We help you pick a skirt shape that feels balanced and looks amazing.

I want comfort (I need to move!)

We show the easiest fabrics, fits, and simple tricks to feel good all day (and night).

I don’t know anything (help me)

The fastest path (3 steps)
1) Measure waist 2) Measure high hip 3) Measure full hip Then pick a skirt style
Simple checklist
  • You measured waist, high hip, and full hip.
  • Your tape was snug, not tight.
  • If you are between sizes: for skirts, pick the fit you want (snug = smaller, relaxed = bigger).

If something feels off, go to Fixes. We tell you exactly what to change.

Size Finder

Skirt sizing (super simple)
  • Waist is the smallest part of your middle (where you want the waistband to sit).
  • High hip is a few inches below waist (where many fitted skirts start to hug).
  • Full hip is the fullest part of your hips/seat.

Skirts can be snug (pencil, bodycon, mermaid) or easy (A-line, pleated, tiered). If you are between sizes, decide your vibe: snug = smaller, easy = bigger.

1) Pick system 2) Pick waist 3) Pick high hip 4) Pick full hip 5) Tap button

Option A: Use measurements (best)

No tape measure?

Use a string. Wrap, mark it, then measure that length with a ruler.

Option B: I know my regular size already

Pick your everyday size system and size. We show the closest match + all conversions (Alpha / US / UK / EU / IT / FR / AU).

Skirt fit rule

If your waist and hips point to different sizes, pick the size that fits the largest area for fitted skirts (pencil/mermaid), or choose an easier skirt style (A-line/pleated/tiered).

Fit Rules

The 6 easy skirt fit rules

  • Waistband comfort: snug is okay, pain is not.
  • Sit test: you should sit without the waistband digging or the skirt riding up too much.
  • Hip room matters: pencil/mermaid/tulip need enough hip space.
  • Walk test: take steps—tight skirts may need a slit or stretch.
  • Length check: mini/midi/maxi should feel right for your movement and comfort.
  • Fabric changes everything: stretch = forgiving, woven = size matters more.
Between sizes = choose your vibe Stretch = forgiving Woven = size matters

How to measure (super easy)

Waist
Tape around the smallest part of your waist (or where you want the waistband). Snug, not tight.
High hip
Tape a few inches below your waist. This matters for fitted skirts and yoke-style waists.
Full hip
Tape around the fullest part of your hips/seat. Keep it level.
Wear the right base
Measure over thin clothes or underwear. Thick clothes change numbers.

Find Your Skirt Fabrics

Fabrics decide the feel: flowy vs structured, matte vs shiny, cool vs warm. Answer 3 quick questions and we suggest skirt fabrics to start with.

Light + flowy

  • Chiffon: airy, floaty, beautiful movement.
  • Rayon/viscose: soft drape, comfy in warm weather.
  • Cotton voile: breathable and light (great for tiered/maxi).

Structured + clean

  • Denim: casual structure, holds shape.
  • Cotton twill: crisp, great for A-line and utility skirts.
  • Crepe: sleek, modern, drapes nicely.

Romantic textures

  • Lace: romantic texture; can be lined for comfort.
  • Tulle/mesh: dreamy layers, great volume and softness.
  • Embroidered fabric: special detail for elevated looks.

Comfort tips

  • Hot weather: choose breathable fabrics (cotton, rayon, light chiffon).
  • Fitted skirts: stretch fabrics feel easier (knit, ponte, stretch denim).
  • Shiny fabrics: may show lines—choose smooth underlayers for a clean look.

Details That Matter

High waist vs mid waist vs low rise
High waist defines the waist and pairs well with tucked or cropped tops. Mid waist is the easiest everyday fit. Low rise sits lower and is more trend-forward.
Stretch vs woven
Stretch fabrics forgive small size differences. Woven fabrics need a more exact fit at waist and hips.
Slit
Adds movement. For fitted or longer skirts, a slit can be the difference between “stiff” and “easy to walk.”
Waistband type
Elastic = comfort. Fixed waistband = polished. Smocked waist = flexible and easy.
Lining
Lining adds comfort and coverage (especially for lace, tulle, and light fabrics).
Pockets
Pockets add function, but can add a little volume at the hip area. Decide what you prefer.

Fixes

Pick your issue. We tell you what to do.

It’s tight at the waist
Size up or choose an elastic/smocked waist. For woven skirts, waist fit matters more.
It’s tight at the hips
Common with pencil/mermaid/tulip. Size up, choose stretch, or switch to A-line/pleated for easier hips.
It rides up when I walk
Try a bigger size, add a slip/lining, or choose a skirt with a slit or more flare.
The skirt twists or spins around my waist
Usually the waist is too loose. Try a smaller size or a style with a better waistband (elastic/smocked can help).
The waistband rolls down
Try a larger size, a firmer waistband, or choose a high waist that sits at your natural waist.
The skirt feels hard to walk in
Choose a slit, more stretch, or a skirt with more flare (A-line/pleated). Always do a walking test.
The fabric shows lines
Choose smoother underlayers or pick textured fabrics (pleats, lace, knit) that hide lines.

FAQ

Should I buy my exact size?
If the skirt is fitted and woven, be more precise. If it’s stretchy, you have more flexibility. Between sizes: choose your vibe (snug vs easy).
What if waist and hips are different sizes?
For fitted skirts, buy the size that fits the largest area (usually hips). For easy styles (A-line/pleated/tiered), you can prioritize waist comfort and adjust with a belt if needed.
What is the safest skirt shape?
A-line or pleated midi. They flatter many bodies and feel easy to wear.
Do I need shapewear?
Not required. Some fabrics (satin/knit) look smoother with it. Comfort first.
