I want comfort (I need to move!)
We show the easiest fabrics, fits, and simple tricks to feel good all day (and night).
I don’t know anything (help me)
- You measured waist, high hip, and full hip.
- Your tape was snug, not tight.
- If you are between sizes: for skirts, pick the fit you want (snug = smaller, relaxed = bigger).
If something feels off, go to Fixes. We tell you exactly what to change.
Size Finder
- Waist is the smallest part of your middle (where you want the waistband to sit).
- High hip is a few inches below waist (where many fitted skirts start to hug).
- Full hip is the fullest part of your hips/seat.
Skirts can be snug (pencil, bodycon, mermaid) or easy (A-line, pleated, tiered). If you are between sizes, decide your vibe: snug = smaller, easy = bigger.
Option A: Use measurements (best)
Use a string. Wrap, mark it, then measure that length with a ruler.
Option B: I know my regular size already
Pick your everyday size system and size. We show the closest match + all conversions (Alpha / US / UK / EU / IT / FR / AU).
If your waist and hips point to different sizes, pick the size that fits the largest area for fitted skirts (pencil/mermaid), or choose an easier skirt style (A-line/pleated/tiered).
Fit Rules
The 6 easy skirt fit rules
- Waistband comfort: snug is okay, pain is not.
- Sit test: you should sit without the waistband digging or the skirt riding up too much.
- Hip room matters: pencil/mermaid/tulip need enough hip space.
- Walk test: take steps—tight skirts may need a slit or stretch.
- Length check: mini/midi/maxi should feel right for your movement and comfort.
- Fabric changes everything: stretch = forgiving, woven = size matters more.
